OUR NEWEST RAY SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT

It’s almost the time of the year for EAA  chapters to apply for a Ray Aviation Schol-arship. Starting on November 1, 2022, the chapter application period will open for the 2023 Ray Aviation Scholarship. Our chapter will once again will apply for another scholarship for a deserving student. All EAA chapters and  divisional chapters are eligible to apply for one of these flight training scholarships to help a young person learn to fly. In addition to the money provided by the scholarship, our chapter will also provide the mentorship and support that is crucial to helping a scholar com-plete flight training and attain their pilot certificate.

The mother organization will look at the following:

  • Overall chapter health and activity, as determined by its Chapter Recognition score.

  • Youth activities the chapter engages in. This includes (but is not limited to) the Young Eagles Workshops, Young Eagles Build and Fly, and chapter-led aircraft build or restoration projects for youth.

  • Chapter experience administering a scholarship

Charlie Star was our last scholar that was awarded a $6000 dollar scholarship. Due to  Charlie having some good hours under his belt, EAA awarded him this category of scholarship. Charlie passed his written-on October 17, with a score of 93%.

Way to go Charlie!
